| Great School Jobs lets all 18,000 public school districts across the country post job openings in their districts on the web. As a job seeker, you can search the posted positions for ones that meet your criteria for geographical location, work hours and academic level. Likewise, once you create an account on the Great School Systems, employers can review your data to see if they have a position that you might be qualified for, based on the same criteria. |

| Nothing. As a job seeker you may look for jobs, create a profile and apply for as many positions as you like - all for free. We do not charge job seekers for using Great School Jobs, even when you find a position through this site. |

You can look for jobs that employers have posted on this site. You do not need to create an account for this – just click the View Jobs icon at the top of the page, indicate your preferences from a couple of dropdown boxes and click GO. You can post your qualifications and preferences on this site for employers to view. To do this you must create an account by clicking on the Applicant Logon icon at the top of the page, then click on the Create ID/Password button. You must then complete at least the short profile to provide enough information for employers to find you (contact information, experience, education, etc.). You can apply for posted positions online. To do this you must create an account and must complete the standard profile. Then, when you view jobs you will be given an option to apply online. You may apply for as many positions as you like. If you are still not sure, read through the other postings on this FAQ. |

| No. You can list available positions by clicking on the View Jobs icon. If you see a position you are interested in, click on the job title. Additional information about the position and contact information for the school district will be displayed. You may contact the school about the position by phone or email, although if the school is posting the position online, they probably will want you to apply online as well. |

| First, in creating an account and completing a profile you will make your qualifications available to employers who are looking for candidates to fill a posted position. Second, in creating an account you will be able to take advantage of Midnight Match which will email you nightly with a list of positions for which you are qualified. Third, you will need to create an account if you want to apply for a position online.. |

If you are an individual interested in looking for jobs, you can create one yourself. At the top of the Great School Jobs page click on the Applicant Logon icon. Then click on the Create ID/Password button on the right side of the page. Enter the ID you wish to use (up to 10 characters), your password twice (for verification), first name, last name and email address. Click the Submit button at the bottom of the page. If the ID you have selected is already in use, you will be asked to enter a different one, along with your password. Be careful to enter your correct email address since you will be sent a confirmation of your ID and password to that address as soon as you click the Submit button. |

If you remember your ID but not your password, go to the Great School Jobs website and click on the Applicant Logon icon. Then click on the Email Password button. You will be prompted for your ID and email address. If the ID and email address you enter matches those on your profile, the system will automatically email your password to you. If you don’t remember either your ID or your ID and password, send us an email here requesting the information. Please include your first and last name. We will send the ID and password to the email address on your profile. |

| No. You only need one ID to access all Great School Jobs sites – National, State, and Local. It doesn’t matter where you create your ID. It will work at all levels. |

| Every public school district in the country has been assigned an ID and password for Great School Jobs. Just complete this form and we will send you yours. Please be sure to make the request from your district’s email address (rather than a Hotmail or AOL account) so we can be sure it is a legitimate request. |

| The short profile contains the minimum amount of information needed to match you with a job. Completing the short profile will let employers find you and will let the system find jobs for you (our Midnight Match). The standard profile contains more information and must be completed before you apply for a posted position. |

| Great School Jobs is still a new website. Not all school districts are aware that they are able to post positions on it, and not all who are aware actually use it. Keep checking back though. Every day we receive many requests for IDs and passwords from school districts across the country. |

There are two possibilities here: We have recently changed the way we determine if a profile is complete. Your profile may have looked complete under the old method even if it was not. The new method is more thorough and will catch items that the old method missed. You may be applying for a position with an organization or state that you did not apply to before. Each state and many organizations on the Great School Jobs site may have different required fields. Therefore, when you apply for a new position there may be fields that you were not prompted for before. Once you fill them out, however, they will remain a part of your profile and if another state or organization requires that information you will not need to complete it again. |

| No. The jobs that you have been emailed are simply recommendations based on the information you entered on your Agents screen and the requirements of the positions that have been posted. It is up to you to apply for the positions. |
| You should deactivate your profile if you are not actively looking for a job, especially if you are under contract with another school district. This will keep your profile from appearing on employer’s lists of prospective employees. To deactivate your profile, log onto the Great School Jobs site and select either your Short or Standard profile. On the Personal screen, click on the Inactive Profile box to deactivate your profile. Then click on SAVE or SAVE & NEXT. |
